The newest edition to the Porsche family is the much-envied 2010 Porsche Panamera, which debuts in 2010 as the company's first 4-door, 5-seater, luxury sedan. It comes in three trims styles--the 400 hp V8, all-wheel-drive 4S, the 400 hp V8, rear-wheel-drive S, and the turbocharged 500 hp, all-wheel-drive Turbo. Though luxury is seeping from every pore, the new Panamera boasts a number of features that are well, practical. It has exterior equipment and technology that make it more fuel efficient than most vehicles in its class. This technology includes an extensive use of aluminum and a start/stop feature that turns the engine off when you're stopped at a red light and seamlessly turns it on again when you release the brake. It also has a fully covered underbody, which improves aerodynamics and fuel economy. All the trims come with 7-speed Porsche (PDK) double clutch transmission, which enhances acceleration and lowers fuel consumption. Drivers on the go will also appreciate the rear seat which folds to boost the luggage capacity to a startling 44.6 cubic feet. Motor Trend sings the Panamera's praises in their review which states, "Let's cut to the chase: The 2010 Porsche Panamera is big, fast, and comfortable; a genuine four passenger Gran Turismo capable of loafing across continents in giant 130 mph bounds, leaving you relaxed and refreshed at the end of the day at the wheel."To enhance the power and efficiency of the Porsche Panamera's engine it includes direct fuel injection, an integrated dry sump lubrication system with an oil cooler, and cylinder specific knock control, which prevents unwanted combustion from occuring in the piston.
The Panamera comes with Porche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Stability Management, Anti Slip Regulation, an Automatic Brake Differential, and Engine Drag Torque Control. These systems work together to give you perfect handling. For instance, Porsche Stability Managment uses sensors to continuously monitor driving direction, speed, yaw velocity, and lateral acceleration. If the system detects that the vehicle is deviating from the desired direction, it brakes the wheels individually to get you back on the right track. The Panamera comes with an anti lock braking system with brake pad wear indicators, and an electric parking brake. The rotors are vented and perforated.
The seductive exterior sports hot dip galvanization on both sides, full underbody paneling, and a rear chrome logotype. Drivers will especially enjoy the electric sliding roof, water repellant coating on the front windows, heatable rear window, and an adaptive rear spoiler which deploys at 56 mph to reduce drag and improve fuel economy. The bi-Xenon headlights come with dynamic leveling, a headlight washer system, a welcome home function, and an adaptive light system with static and dynamic cornering lights and speed-dependent headlight range control.
The interior of the new Panamera features PCM (Porsche Communication Management), which includes a 7" color touchscreen that is coated with a durable, easy to clean surface. This system is the central unit for all audio, navigation, and communications functions and is easy to use. When viewing a map on the touchscreen it is possible to select a 3D perspective or a 2D perspective. Additionally, you can quickly view traffic information or points of interest by simply touching them on the touchscreen. The integrated audio system includes an MP3 capable AM/FM radio with a CD/DVD drive for audio playback. The radio functions include up to 48 memory presets as well as an FM dual tuner with RDS. You'll also benefit from the on board computer that shows digital continuous indication of total mileage, trip mileage, time, outside temperature, and speed. Other important interior features include a two speed wiper system (with rain sensor, wiper delay control, and heated washer nozzles), remote central locking, an anti theft system, a Homelink door opener, cruise control, four 12V socket outlets, electronic oil level measurement, and a 3 spoke smooth leather multifunction steering wheel.
You and your passengers can rest easy and enjoy the ride knowing that the Panamera has a fully galvanized high strength steel body with front and rear deformation zones. The air bags include dual front advanced airbags, integrated side airbags in the front and rear seats, curtain airbags covering the roof frame and all the side windows, and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. For extra safety, a rollover detection system enables early deployment of the curtain airbags and seat belt pretensioners.

The 2010 Porsche Panamera 4S is powered by a 400-horsepower 4.8-liter V8 that works with an Active All-Wheel Drive System to launch you from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. The 500 hp, all wheel drive Panamera Turbo sports a beautiful coat of metallic paint and comes with dual-tube, stainless steel tailpipes, and two exhaust turbochargers. Presure cast Panamera Turbo wheels, anti-theft performance tires, and adaptive air suspension all come standard on this trim.
